On November 12-13, 2024, the Fair Trade Advocacy Office (FTAO) hosted its annual Fair Trade Advocacy Marathon, a gathering for the Fair Trade movement committed to advancing the principles of Fair Trade. This two-day event provided a unique platform for meaningful dialogue and collaboration, highlighting the importance of Fair Trade in addressing global challenges such as inequality and the climate crisis.

Throughout the sessions, participants emphasised the critical role of advocacy in shaping policies that align with Fair Trade principles, building equitable systems, and fostering long-term sustainability. The event also underscored the power of youth in driving the movement forward. Elena Sbaragli, Grete Porwoll, and Simon Guérin Sanz, representing the Young Fair Trade Advocates (YFTAs), provided fresh perspectives on these issues. Their active engagement in discussions highlighted the importance of intergenerational collaboration in ensuring the future of Fair Trade.
